To the window.....to the wall.

Why is it that we can never figure out what to do with our walls?  It's always so intimidating to stare at a big blank wall and try to fill it with artwork, mirrors, pictures, etc. Then half the time you end up putting up something, taking it down, returning your item back to the store......rewind, repeat, sigh in frustration.  All you've got now is a wall full of nail holes, not very pretty.

Luckily stenciling is back.  Don't worry, I'm not referring to the ugly stencil borders you are thinking of from 1986, now there are so many beautiful stencils out there to give your boring walls a face-lift.

Janell from Isabella and Max Rooms created this amazing stenciled focal wall. To see her step by step instructions, click here, isn't it beautiful? I love the turqouise lamp against the gray wall, such a great pop of color.

Shelly from the House of Smith's did something a little bit different and used this quatrefoil stencil in her pantry.

Here is a fun wallpaper print that Irene from Design Stiles put in her hallway.

I may steal this idea from her.

The possibilites are endless...

There are so many places for stencils, but here are a few of my favorite shops, have fun!

  1. Hi Eileen! Congratulations on going back to school and wishing you much success!! Just wanted to say thank you for featuring my stencils from Royal Design Studio. I actually began designing my own stencils BACK in 1984 just so I wouldn't have to stencil with those ugly borders you are referring to. :) Best-Melanie Royals
